Photographs taken May 8, 1970 a Friday at noon. On April 30th, President Nixon announced the US invasion of Cambodia; on May 4th National Guard soldiers fired on demonstrators at Kent State University.
In the photographs students are shown first occupying Federal Hall steps, then people watching and listening often to the many spontaneous discussions which sprang up amidst the crowd, construction workers charge the steps and push out the anti-war demonstrators, watching and talking resumes.
